TREATMENT FOR TERMITES IN SOUTHERN UTAH
It doesn’t take long for termites to wreak havoc and damage your home, shed, or other structures. Their damage can be costly to treat so it’s always best to act right away. How to Recognize a Termite Problem
- Sticking Windows or Doors: Termites target easy access to wood like that on windows and doors for feeding. As they eat through these structures, they can start to warp, making them difficult to open or close.
- Paint or Wallpaper Damage: If painted or wallpapered surfaces look unusual, it can be a sign or termites eating away at the structures underneath. Looks for pinholes that indicate where they’ve eaten through, bubbling paint, buckling wood, or peeling and discolored wallpaper.
- Termite Swarmers & Discarded Wings: Termite swarmers have two pairs of pale wings that are about ¼ to ½ inch long. They shed these wings when they leave a colony to mate. Finding these in your home near windows and doors are a sure sign of an active colony.
- Mud Tubes: Look for narrow tubes outside your home starting from the ground up. Termites use them to safely travel and stay moist.
- Droppings: Termites push their droppings outside of their nests to keep them clean. These will look like piles of sawdust or wood shavings.
